  • Description

All over the world, the law provides full priority to pedestrians crossing roads at specified crossing locations. Many crosswalks, where they are not part of an organized traffic light controlled intersection, become dangerous locations for pedestrians, specially at night or in bad weather conditions, when the driver is unable to see the pedestrian from a sufficient distance.

Our warning system is designed to provide an early and highly visible signal to warn the driver when approaching a crosswalk. The system is activated by special microprocessor controlled detectors installed on the crosswalk, where the pedestrian is waiting before crossing. When the presence of a pedestrian is detected the system is activated for a certain period of time. This setup increases the reliability of the system by activating it only when needed.

The system uses hi intensity LED illuminated pavement markers of the standard type placed a few meters ahead the paint markings from the direction of travel. The markers emit a red blinking light all together. The system can be connected to electrical power with backup batteries or can be activated by a solar power supply.

This is a low cost, efficient and reliable system designed for minimum maintenance, to be used in one of the most problematic locations in city's traffic.

In 1999 the first CROSSWALK WARNING SYSTEM was officially installed in Israel
