| PARKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM |
| Finding an available spot in a parking lot is
sometimes an annoying, time-consuming experience. Due to space limitations,
no exit areas are created. To check for a free place the driver needs to
enter such an area and then to perform complicated maneuvers in order to
get out and check the next one. The problem is more critical in multi level
parkings. |
 |
Our parking guidance system is a development
of the Active Road Marking System we are working on. ARMS is a setup of
light emitting units, resembling the shape of the regular retro-reflective
pavement markers used along roads. A main control unit individually addresses
each unit. On roads, this feature is used to create directional and warning
indication to the drivers. |
| By installing a network in a parking lot, with the addition
of low cost car detectors placed in each parking space and a computer based
control unit, the system allows directional guidance from the entrance
to the parking lot to the nearest available space. The system provides
on line occupancy information that can be feed to a main city parking network. |

Features
A low cost integrated system, installed on the ground surface as one network.
Computer controlled, can accommodate a variety of special conditions, such
as:
spaces for handicapped, preprogrammed populating schedule and etc.
Ability to connect to city's parking mainframe.
Provides maximum optimization for the parking lot's operation and
minimum searching time.
Very low power consumption.
Easy installation: the network consists of a pair of wires connected all
over
the parking lot with the marking units and detectors connected in parallel.
